My mom and her mom and my moms sister and my cousin all run barrels. My mom's been doing it since she could walk - and they love it - they love the thrill of it, the challenge of it and they love their horses. This is about them and other women like them.
CHASIN’ TIN CANS
She’s wakin’ up, it’s time to go
Down to the next town
She’s runnin’ in the rodeo
Better get saddled up
Get her horse warmed up
Aim him thru the gate
Kickin and Spirrin’
Don’t blow past that first can
Made the turn, headin’ for the sweet spot
Clock seems to be running fast
Heading for the finish line
(Chorus)
She’s movin’ like a rocket ship
Blood surging through her vains
Wind flowin’ threw his mane
Don’t matter ‘bout the pain
She’s got a time to beat
Chasin’ tin cans.
Time looks good – collect my check
Time to go, Headin’ home
Her husband calls
Don’t wait up – she’ll be late.
He knows he can’t keep her home
Even though she loves him so,
She’s addicted to the thrill.
(Chorus)
She’s movin’ like a rocket ship
Blood surging through her vains
Wind flowin’ threw his mane
Don’t matter ‘bout the pain
She’s got a time to beat
Chasin’ tin cans.
He knows he can’t keep her home
Even though she loves him so,
She’s addiction to the thrill
She don’t want to leave him home
but when it’s time to go,
she’ll be back on the road
Chasing tin cans.
